The Alphabet Tree is a children’s learning center located in Marlboro, NY. Programs for infants and toddlers are designed to build social skills and encourage early learning. An educational preschool program is available for three and four year olds.
INFANT & TODDLER PROGRAMS
Infants are cared for in a warm and nurturing environment that encourages learning through play. Strong teacher - child relationships encourage babies to explore their environment, learn language and build social skills. Children are always on their own individual schedules and are offered individual age-appropriate activities and toys. Parents receive a daily written report about their child's day.
Toddlers and two's are cared for in a small group. This very social group is offered a circle time each day that includes stories, songs, games and movement. Children are encouraged to learn independence and develop strong relationships. Miss Laurie from Footworks teaches gymnastics on Mondays. The gym program focuses on music, movement, props, and fun!
EDUCATIONAL PRESCHOOL PROGRAM
A well-rounded preschool program is designed to prepare your child for kindergarten. The program includes a learning circle, stories, songs, art projects, writing, "create-a-snack" cooking projects, show-and-tell, nature and science, parties, special guest presentations, dance with Miss Laurie, MOGAWORKS (music and yoga program), computer classes and more! A calendar of activities is available each month for parents.
Preschool dance is taught by Miss Laurie from Footworks. The forty five minute lesson, offered on Monday mornings, concentrates on ballet and tap. In June all dancers have the opportunity to perform in the Anita-Jean Recital at the Marlboro High School. All dance classes are FREE. Parents are responsible for the cost of their child's costume if they should choose to be in the show.
MogaWorks is a FREE on-site music and yoga program. Both three and four year olds participate in this Thursday morning class. Children learn yoga poses and meditation while they sing. Props and musical instruments are incorporated for fun.
Preschool computer class is designed to teach children how to use the computer independently. Once learned, the computers are used as a free choice center during free play.
Separate playgrounds are available for each age group to allow for more time out-of doors.
Camp for preschoolers is inviting and exciting. Each day offers a balance of recreational and educational theme-based activities. Children swim three times per week in the heated pool which is located on premises. Mondays and Fridays are reserved for field trips and "fun" days.
